Arguably the most famous sixgun of the Old West, if not the best known in the entire world, Cimarron's Frontier models look and heft just like those guns used by the famous and infamous characters of the Wild West. Men like Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, "Texas" John Slaughter, the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Rangers, all packed them to enforce law and order. While men such as Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Johnny Ringo, Butch Cassidy and members of his "Hole in the Wall" gang and other hombres who, as they said in the Old West, "threw a wide loop," used them to ply their lawless trade.
Cimarron's replica, inspired by an original, sports the traditional blue and color case hardened finish with walnut grips. It's offered in the Old Model (1873-1896), or the Pre-War version (1896-1940). Nickel Plated, deep laser engraved versions are also offered in the Pre-War frame only. Great looking at an affordable price point, these come in two finishes- nickel and old silver frame (OSF)- a two-tone finish where the barrel, cylinder, and grip assembly is blued, and the frame is ‘in the white’- a polished steel finish. There are also two grip options- a poly ivory grip or a walnut grip. Both styles are available in .44-40, .45 Colt, or .38 Special/.357 Magnum, in the original barrel lengths of 4 3/4, 5 1/2, or 7 1/2 inches.

The 1873 peacemaker-style revolver, originally designed for the U.S. Cavalry, quickly became the archetypical sixgun of the frontier. Available in a number of powerful chamberings in different barrel lengths, besides the "peacemaker," it was also known by other monikers like "hogleg," smoke wagon," and "equalizer." In civilian hands, it quickly earned a reputation as a rugged, hard-hitting, well-balanced revolver and outsold all competitors. Men like Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, John Selman, the James-Younger gang, the Daltons, Texas, and later the Arizona Rangers, all packed this legendary arm and did their smoky work with it. With the coming of the Silver Screen, the Model P was reintroduced to an entirely new generation of admirers. In the hands of such Western stars as John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood, and countless others, this sixgun has earned lasting fame with shooters and Old West fans alike! Considered as the most authentic and highest quality reproduction of the 1873 Colt, Cimarron's replica was reproduced in every detail from an original 1873 single action in the Cimarron antique collection and was not replicated by working simply from drawings, as with previous reproductions. Cimarron also took extra steps to improve the gun's reliability with the Cowboy Compaction which eliminates weaknesses associated with the 19th-century design. Offered in the 7 1/2, 5 1/2, or 4 3/4-inch barrel lengths, in either the pre-1896-style Old Model with the cylinder base pin screw located in the front of the frame or the post-1896 Pre-War frame, where the cylinder base pin retaining screw is found on the side of the frame, in front of the cylinder. It comes in .32-20, .38-40, .38 Special/.357 Magnum, .44 Special, .44-40 or .45 Colt. Cimarron's Model P is the sixgun of the West!
