The CCI 17 HM2 polymer tipped V-Max bullet expands similar to big game bullets. The V-Max bullet mushrooms like a big game bullet instead of fragmenting like a varmint bullet. This gives the shooter minimal meat and hide damage yet still provides excellent accuracy and powerful impact. This Hornady V-Max ammo has a muzzle velocity of 2010 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 152 foot pounds. The 17 HM2 ammunition is not a variation of the 17 HMR and is not interchangeable with it. CCI designed this 17 HMR ammo to be new production, non-corrosive and feature Sure-fire CCI priming.
